The Alliance for Global Food Security urges the House Appropriations Committee to restore funding for PL 480 Title II to the FY 2012 level of $1.466 billion, and to rescind section 714 of the bill which would reduce resources for Title II prevention programs by 80 percent. The Alliance is comprised of private voluntary organizations (PVOs) and cooperatives that are actively engaged in humanitarian and development operations in over 100 countries worldwide, supporting efforts of local populations to improve their health, living conditions and livelihoods.
