Congress has approved a $1.1 trillion spending bill that will fund the government through September 30, 2017. Included within this legislation is $300 million for the Maritime Security Program, the amount authorized by Congress to fully fund MSP and its 60 ship maritime security fleet through the remainder of Fiscal Year 2017. This amount will help ensure that the United States-flag commercial sealift capability provided by the MSP will continue to remain available to support Department of Defense operations throughout the world.
