FOOD AID FACT AND FICTION: USA MARITIME SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT

On October 19, 2017, the Senate Committee on foreign relations held a hearing on the implementation of the PL 480 Food for Peace Program.  During the course of this hearing, various statements were made critical of the role the U.S.-flag maritime industry plays in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of food aid cargoes around the world.   In an effort to set the record straight and to correct the misinformation presented during this hearing, USA Maritime has sent a statement to the government’s Office of Food for Peace.  READ MORE (PDF)
