A new economic study prepared by Reeve and Associates and the Hawaii-based TZ Economics has found that the Jones Act has no effect on the cost of living in Hawaii. The study puts to rest the unsubstantiated allegations made by those who would prefer that foreign built and operated vessels, rather than American built and operated vessels, operate between the United States mainland and Hawaii.
