FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 30, 2016   Statement on the Announcement of Elaine Chao as the Secretary of Transportation The Marine Engineers’ Beneficial Association and the International Organization of Masters Mates & Pilots congratulate Elaine Chao on her nomination by the President-elect to be Secretary of Transportation. We appreciate Secretary-designate Chao’s deep understanding of transportation and maritime issues and we are confident her background will serve our nation well at a time when our country’s infrastructure and maritime industry are in need of comprehensive strategies and investments. We look forward to working with Secretary-designate Chao in her new capacity.
