Bipartisan Group of 119 Representatives and Senators Support SHIPS Act Provisions in the House-Passed Defense Bill

As negotiations proceed on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2027, we write to share our strong support for the inclusion of the bipartisan, bicameral Shipbuilding and Harbor Infrastructure for Prosperity and Security Act of 2025, or the SHIPS for America Act of 2025. As supporters of this legislation, we commend the inclusion of provisions of the SHIPS for America Act of 2025 in Title XXXVI of the House-passed NDAA. The inclusion of these provisions is a necessary start for revitalizing the U.S. maritime industry. We also strongly support additional consideration of SHIPS for America Act provisions that were not included in the House-passed NDAA. Click here to read full statement (PDF)
